Sometimes when I spend a whole day working on a project and teaching myself a new piece of software like Adobe Audition or DVD Studio Pro and figuring out all the little things I want to do as I do them, I think about all the things that I could do if I was focusing that energy on something big, something important that could help everybody.
Oh brother. I'd better get to bed.

I thought at first it was just something similar, but now I realize that you are at least paraphrasing if not using a direct quote from WoSaT.
Anyway, I know what you mean, but if you don't do the little things first you'll never get to any of the big things. Or maybe if you concentrate on the big things all the little things will fall into place? I'm not sure, but just remember. It is creativity that gets things created and nothing stops the creative spirit!
